ConfigSheets
If every file needs the same code lookup, ConfigSheets lets your team keep that table in Google Sheets and makes it available as structured data your applications can query, from customer and supplier code mappings to tables and grids.
FREE CSV AND JSON FILE CHECKS
Compare this week's CSV export with last week's by the key columns you choose. FeedBench reports added, removed, changed and ambiguous keys without guessing a match. Free, in your browser.
Free to use. No account, email address or trial. Works offline once prepared.

Fictional values from an illustrative item list. FeedBench never trims, pads or changes the original file.
For engineering, planning and data owners comparing two exports of an item list, location list or bill of materials before passing the new one on.
A USEFUL STARTING POINT
When rows are sorted differently, a line-by-line comparison can report almost everything as changed. FeedBench matches records by the key columns you choose, so row order makes no difference. A key that appears more than once is reported as ambiguous instead of being matched to the first row, and a removed key is a result to review, not an instruction to delete anything.
FROM QUESTION TO EVIDENCE
Choose the current file and check it, then load the previous file on the Compare step. Both files need the same delimiter and the same headers in the same order.
Tick one to four key columns, such as part_no, or job_id and unit_id together. Values are compared exactly, so 000017 and 17 are different keys.
See whole-file counts of added, removed, changed, unchanged and ambiguous keys, and keys with an empty value, then the first 50 keys with their record numbers. The diagnostic PDF keeps the counts.
Last week's item list has 2,410 records and this week's has 2,412, keyed by part_no. FeedBench reports 2,371 unchanged, 36 changed, 3 added, 2 removed and 1 ambiguous: part_no B-220 appears twice in this week's file, at records 118 and 119. It does not pick either row. You decide which is correct in the source.
USED IN PRODUCTION
FeedBench checks one file at a time, by hand. Two SmartFACT services handle the data work that repeats: keeping the lookup tables your applications need, and turning order exports into checked kits. Both are in early access, with scope agreed at onboarding.
If every file needs the same code lookup, ConfigSheets lets your team keep that table in Google Sheets and makes it available as structured data your applications can query, from customer and supplier code mappings to tables and grids.
When an order export decides what goes into each kit, KitProof starts from a CSV export of your orders, builds each kit's checklist from approved plain English component rules and checks every scan against the expected parts and quantities.
BEFORE YOU START
No. Both files need the same headers in the same order and the same delimiter, or the comparison stops with a clear rule. If a column was added or renamed, align the headers in the source system first, or map one file to the other's layout and compare the downloaded preview.
It tells you whether two JSON files are exactly equal, comparing object properties and array positions, with numbers kept as written. It does not match JSON records by key or list individual differences.
Not necessarily. It means the key is in the previous file and not in the current one. FeedBench does not change either file or any system, and the comparison is not checked against a live database. What to do about it is a decision for the system that owns the data.
FeedBench checks and previews files. It does not import, repair or synchronise anything, and it never trims, pads, converts or approximately matches values. It reads UTF-8 CSV with a confirmed comma, semicolon or tab delimiter and a header row, and strict JSON, up to 5 MiB per file and 15 MiB per project. CSV checks cover up to 10,000 records and 64 columns, a reference file up to 5,000 records, and a check stops after ten seconds. Mapping uses source columns, exact constants and exact lookups only, with no formulas, unit conversion, splitting or merging. JSON is inspected and compared for exact equality, not mapped. XLSX, XML, EDI, other text encodings and CSV without a header row are not read. Candidate checks for SmartFACT layouts never confirm a live import.
Your files stay in this browser. A temporary project keeps them in memory while the tab is open; Save on this device keeps the project, source files included, until you delete it. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account or email step. Default reports leave out your values, file names and hashes. Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you accept; it never receives file contents, file names, values or results. Use Analytics settings to change your choice; see /privacy/.
