ConfigSheets
If every file needs the same code lookup, ConfigSheets lets your team keep that table in Google Sheets and makes it available as structured data your applications can query, from customer and supplier code mappings to tables and grids.
FREE CSV AND JSON FILE CHECKS
See exactly what is in the file, where it breaks and what changed since the last version. Preview a mapping into another column layout and download the result. Your files stay on your device. No account required.
Free to use. No account, email address or trial. Works offline once prepared.

Record 215 · description
Washer M8␣
Fictional values from an illustrative item list. FeedBench never trims, pads or changes the original file.
For office, planning and stores staff, integrators and supervisors who move item, order, unit or location files between systems and need to know why an import fails.
A USEFUL STARTING POINT
When an import fails, the questions are which record, which column and which rule. FeedBench reads the file exactly as written, with no trimming, padding or type guessing, so 000017 stays 000017 and a trailing space stays visible. It shows where the file breaks, previews a corrected copy as a new file and leaves the original untouched. The receiving system still runs its own import and checks its own settings and records.
FROM FAILED IMPORT TO ANSWER
Choose a CSV or JSON file, or paste the text. For CSV, pick comma, semicolon or tab and confirm that the first record holds the headers. FeedBench never guesses either.
Check the structure, preview a mapping into the columns another system expects, or compare with a previous version using the key columns you choose.
See each problem by rule, record and column, then download a diagnostic PDF or CSV, the mapped CSV preview, a mapping recipe or a project backup.
WHAT IT DOES
Cells stay text. Leading zeroes, case and spaces are kept, and line breaks, tabs and edge spaces are shown in visible notation, so 000017 and 17 never look alike.
Unclosed quotes, repeated or empty headers and uneven records stop the check with the rule, record and column. A file that is not valid UTF-8 is refused when you open it. JSON with a repeated property name is refused, and numbers are never rounded.
Each target column takes one source column, an exact constant or an exact lookup in a reference CSV. Every omitted column needs your acknowledgement, and the mapping downloads as a recipe for the next file.
Choose one to four key columns. Each key is reported as added, removed, changed or unchanged, or as ambiguous when it appears more than once. Row order does not count as a change.
The diagnostic PDF and CSV hold counts, rule codes and record numbers, not your values, file names or hashes. Adding the first 30 records to the PDF is a separate choice you preview first.
Choose Prepare for offline use while connected, and checking, mapping, comparison and downloads keep working without a signal.
Files you choose or paste stay in temporary memory while the tab is open. Save on this device keeps the whole project, source files included, in this browser until you delete it, for anyone using the same browser profile. Neither is a cloud backup, so download a project backup to keep a copy or move to another device. File names are not kept, and nothing is uploaded.
USED IN PRODUCTION
FeedBench checks one file at a time, by hand. Two SmartFACT services handle the data work that repeats: keeping the lookup tables your applications need, and turning order exports into checked kits. Both are in early access, with scope agreed at onboarding.
If every file needs the same code lookup, ConfigSheets lets your team keep that table in Google Sheets and makes it available as structured data your applications can query, from customer and supplier code mappings to tables and grids.
When an order export decides what goes into each kit, KitProof starts from a CSV export of your orders, builds each kit's checklist from approved plain English component rules and checks every scan against the expected parts and quantities.
BEFORE YOU START
Yes. Checking, mapping, comparison, saving, recovery and every download are free, with no account, email address or trial. File-size limits keep the browser responsive, and they are the same for everyone.
UTF-8 CSV with comma, semicolon or tab separators and a header row, and strict JSON, each up to 5 MiB. XLSX, XML, EDI and other encodings are not read, so save a spreadsheet as CSV UTF-8 first.
No. FeedBench shows what needs changing and never changes the original. You can declare a mapping and explicit changes to individual values, and download the result as a new CSV preview. It never pads codes, trims spaces or chooses a value for you.
Once prepared. Open FeedBench while connected and choose Prepare for offline use. When it reports the prepared release, checking, mapping, comparison and downloads work without a connection. A first visit and these pages need a connection.
FeedBench checks and previews files. It does not import, repair or synchronise anything, and it never trims, pads, converts or approximately matches values. It reads UTF-8 CSV with a confirmed comma, semicolon or tab delimiter and a header row, and strict JSON, up to 5 MiB per file and 15 MiB per project. CSV checks cover up to 10,000 records and 64 columns, a reference file up to 5,000 records, and a check stops after ten seconds. Mapping uses source columns, exact constants and exact lookups only, with no formulas, unit conversion, splitting or merging. JSON is inspected and compared for exact equality, not mapped. XLSX, XML, EDI, other text encodings and CSV without a header row are not read. Candidate checks for SmartFACT layouts never confirm a live import.
Your files stay in this browser. A temporary project keeps them in memory while the tab is open; Save on this device keeps the project, source files included, until you delete it. Nothing is uploaded, and there is no account or email step. Default reports leave out your values, file names and hashes. Google Analytics is optional and loads only after you accept; it never receives file contents, file names, values or results. Use Analytics settings to change your choice; see /privacy/.
